Just touching base here…

My internet is still wonky, but we have a guy coming out to look at our network this weekend. In the meantime, I’d like to leave you with this article (actually a pointer to another article): Learn from the fall of Rome.

    Good article!

I am still trying to find someone who will carpool to work.

My mother-in-law “Humphed” my interest in environmentalism last night.

Who can ignore the implications of rolling financial markets, increasing fuel costs, increasing food costs, decreasing home values, and credit evaporation? What about the huge drought in the southern US and global extreme weather?

Maybe one should be concerned? Maybe consider some different possible scenerios?

A waiter offered us Kobe Beef last night and I pondered how much energy it took to import fertilizer to the US, grow the wheat, make it into beer (bottle/water/contents), transport it to Japan, to feed it to cows (who get human masages while they eat) to ship the beef back to the US for wide eyed Americans to eat. My husband rolled his eyes when I whispered this to him. Our co-diners noticed nothing unusual about the menu offering) My Humphing mother-in-law said she wasn’t paying $45 for lobster because the price was riduculous. Did you read about depleting fish from the ocean?

I recycle, compost and turn off unused lights. I am so far “out there” in comparison to friends/family I am a freak!

I wish I underestood how they are thinking. Maybe ignorance is bliss.
