Local, local, local!
Today is my obligatory ‘local’ post (even though we eat local almost every day!) but this time, we have a picture of the Famous Salad ™!
Isn’t it purdy? That’s the sort of thing I get from my garden on a twice weekly basis.
We also had home-cured pork (from a friend who showed me how to slaughter a pig and gave me the meat), as well as roasted butternut squash from the food co-op (the best squash I’ve ever had by far). The seeds I’m saving up in the corner are from the squashes, which I plan to plant soon.
Local eating is the best!

That looks like a delicious salad. What is that leaf with the jagged edge?

I think that’s my Tyfon Holland greens. I grew that from seed, sometimes it’s spiny (then I cook it), sometimes its nice and smooth, great in salads.
