Where did my time go?
You might have noticed that I joined a couple of webrings (if you look near the bottom of the sidebar, you can see the links). One of the people running the spinning webring emailed me asking was I sure I wanted to join a spinning ring, seeing as I hadn’t posted about spinning since last year.
Wow. She’s right. Other than in March, when I got so frustrated that I brought my wheel over to my friend’s house in El Reno (forty minutes away) to have her show me what to do and why I couldn’t get this darn wheel to work, I haven’t been spinning.
Now, since my friend gave me the lesson, I like spinning. I mean, I just joined a spinning ring! I have a bunch of angora fur, and I have the wheel. I have other roving (the prepared fur, for those of you non-spinners) that’s ready to go.
I do need to get some carders to prepare the angora fur, but there’s a store not too far from here that carries them.
So why haven’t I been spinning? Because I’ve been doing all sorts of ‘urgent’ stuff, and by the end of the evening I’m so tired that all I do is sit in front of the computer. I can knit sitting in front of the computer, but I haven’t figured out how to spin like that…
Anyway, I’ve decided that Thursdays are going to be spinning nights, because if I don’t schedule something fun in, it looks like it won’t happen!
That led me to think perhaps this is a problem others are facing. What do you need to schedule a time each week to do, just for you?
