Independence Days update, week 1

So Sharon reminded me about this, and I’m not sure whether to do this on a weekly basis or a daily one. For me, daily makes more sense, seeing as this is a day to day thing.

But anyway, for this week, I –

Planted tomatoes, marigolds (bug control), peppers, and cucumbers

Harvested snowpeas, pea greens, lettuces, chard, and green onions

Preserved … well, I froze snow peas and regular peas, and I’m saving snow pea seeds for the fall

Prepared … let’s see … I bought a food dehydrator

Cooked something new? Nope, just the same things I always do. I cook dinner just about every night, and breakfast on school days

Managed reserves … we had leftovers for two days this week, as the fridge was getting overloaded (!)

Worked on local food systems … ordered my food from the co-op, which I’ll pick up on the 15th. :)

The group added two more:

Composted… since I compost just about everything (junk mail mostly goes for bunny litter, which gets composted), I don’t have much to say on that

Learned a new skill … can’t say I did. I’ll have to look into that. ;)
