Well, I’m back
Apparently the fellow who owns this site had some trouble with his ISP.
Anyways, while I’ve been on my enforced vacation from here, I’ve been busy. My daughter’s boyfriend graduated from high school, I got a bunch of stuff planted, and Leon had to go to the vet for a respiratory infection. (he’s doing fine)
Let me see …
Planted bush beans, tomatoes, cantaloupe, my pomegranate tree (did that this morning). The grapevines out back are putting out little leaves, which makes me very happy, as I thought they had died over the winter. The hibiscus I bought last month is putting out leaves, too, and I need to get it in the ground. Now to figure out where …
Harvested a lot of snow peas. A whole other quart of them. And lettuce, garlic, shallots, and carrots.
Froze the snow peas, and regular peas too.
I think my kids are off their growth spurts or something, as there’s a lot of leftovers these days. I’ve had to have a lot more leftover nights than usual.
Cleaned out the underneath bins on Shadow’s side of the hutch this morning, since it was her day to go outside. All the dried up weeds, shredded paper, manure and such goes into the compost. Anything liquid I save to add water to for foliar feeding (that’s when you feed the leaves directly). You have to dilute urine at least 10:1 or it can burn the plants.
I started another pair of socks! I’m using this pattern right here, only using the same yarn as the other pair. We’ll see how it goes.
