The United Nations has declared 2009 the International Year of Natural Fibres! All sorts of events are planned for this year, but one I just heard about that sounded particularly interesting is an international fiber artist competition sponsored by KeepTheFleece.org.

I don’t think you’ll find a major TV station that isn’t covering the inauguration, but I’m on CNN.com right now watching the coverage online. They’ve partnered with Facebook to let you post your views and thoughts, either just to your friends or to everyone literally all over the world.
